Aggregates for East Sussex jobs

From our yard in St Leonards, our own lorries cover Hastings, Bexhill, Battle, Rye and Eastbourne. Further west and north — Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield, Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven — we send 10–30 tonne bulk loads.

East Sussex jobs run from seafront patios to farm tracks up in the High Weald. Country lanes round Heathfield and Mayfield don’t always suit an artic, so on rural sites we’ll usually suggest the 8-wheel tipper.

Load sizes & site access

Check your site can take the lorry before you book — measure where the load goes, not at the gate.

Our own lorries · 2–9t

Hastings, St Leonards, Bexhill, Battle, Rye, Tenterden and Eastbourne only. £65 / £85 / £100 a trip by zone. Minimum 2 tonnes.

8-wheel tipper · 10–20t

Needs about 9m clear height to tip, firm level ground and roughly a 4m × 4m area for the load. Under 20t carries a part-load charge (£14/t) — a full 20t is often better value.

Artic · 30t

Needs about 11m clear height to tip, a 20m clear run and plenty of turning room. Best on building sites, farms and yards.

48 hours’ notice for delivery. Pay online by card or PayPal, or bank transfer; trade account customers can be invoiced monthly. A wasted journey charge applies if the lorry can’t get in, turn or tip. Full lorry dimensions →

Aggregates in East Sussex — questions

Where in East Sussex do your own lorries deliver?
Hastings, St Leonards, Bexhill and Battle (£65 a trip), Rye (£85) and Eastbourne (£100), for 2–9 tonne loads. The rest of the county gets 10–30 tonne bulk loads.
Can you deliver 5 tonnes to Lewes?
Lewes is outside our own-lorry area, so we’d send a 10-tonne-plus bulk load. For smaller amounts, collect from our yard or buy locally — we’ll be honest about what makes sense.
Can an artic get to a rural site?
Often not down narrow lanes. The artic needs a 20m clear run and about 11m of height to tip. The 8-wheel tipper (up to 20t) is usually the better bet in the countryside.
Do you do recycled aggregates?
Yes — we crush recycled Type 1, 6F5 and hardcore on our own yard, so it’s a lot cheaper than quarried stone.
