Standard Hire Period — 3 Weeks

Your skip is hired for 3 weeks from the delivery date. After 3 weeks, an automatic charge of £25 + VAT per week (or part thereof) applies until we collect it.

Your responsibility: Please call us at least 48 hours before your skip is full or before the 3-week period is up to book a collection time that suits you. We are entitled to collect the skip at any point after 3 weeks — book collection early to avoid overstay charges and to get the slot you want.

8. Declarations

I confirm I have selected the correct waste type for this skip and I will fill it with the selected material only. I understand that if the skip is returned containing incorrect or mixed material, an additional handling fee will be charged to cover the cost of further processing. This is accepted by ticking this box. I confirm the skip will NOT contain chemicals, solvents, paints, oils, clinical waste or items classified as hazardous by the Environment Agency. Any tyres, mattresses, fridges or TVs have been declared above. Asbestos, gas bottles and heavy rubber have been pre-arranged with Hav-A-Skip before this booking. I understand the standard hire period is 3 weeks. After 3 weeks, a charge of £25 + VAT per week applies automatically. I will call Hav-A-Skip with at least 48 hours' notice when the skip is nearly full or the hire period is approaching, to arrange collection. I understand the company may collect the skip after 3 weeks without further notice. I have read and agree to the Terms & Conditions. I understand all prices are ex VAT and that full payment is due before delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a permit to put a skip on the road? +

If you place a skip on a public road or pavement, you'll need a permit from your local council. If it's on your own driveway or private land, no permit is needed. We can advise on this when you book.

How long can I keep the skip? +

Standard hire is 3 weeks, included in the skip price. A 4th week can be added for £25 + VAT when you book. After the hire period ends we may collect the skip without further notice, so call us at least 48 hours ahead to book collection at a time that suits you.

What size skip do I need? +

As a guide: a 2 yard mini skip holds about 20–25 bin bags, a 6 yard holds 60 bags and an 8 yard builder's skip holds around 80 bags. If in doubt, call us and we'll recommend the right size for your job.

Can I overfill the skip? +

No — for safety and legal reasons, skips must not be filled above the top rim. Overfilled skips cannot be collected. We'll advise you on the right size to avoid this.

Do you provide a waste transfer note? +

Yes. All skip hire includes a waste transfer note as required by law. Commercial customers get full digital Duty of Care documentation.
